Write Your Name (Across My Heart)

I can't help smiling when I look at you,
To keep from going crazy is all I can do.
I'm so defenseless with you so close,
The walls have crumbled from my body and soul.

Write your name across my heart.
I want the world to know that I am yours forever.
And I will wear it like a shining star.
Write your name across my heart.

To you my life is an open door.
Everything I have is yours.
I'll try to give you everything you need,
But as far as love goes, there's a life-time guarantee.

Write your name across my heart.
I want the world to know that I am yours forever.
And I will wear it like a shining star.
Write your name across my heart.

In all my thoughts, in all I do, in all I say,
I belong to you with every breath I take....

Write your name across my heart,
I want the world to know that I am yours forever.
And I will wear it like a shining star.
Write your name, across my heart.

And I will wear it like a shining star,
Write your name across my heart.
Across my heart.
Across my heart.

P.O.T. Reunion Gig at 70's Bistro

Grabe! I can’t find words to describe last night. Sobrang sarap ng feeling and sobrang ganda ng performance.

Jet picked me up at home at around 6:30pm and we went straight to Gateway to buy another copy of P.O.T.'s remastered CD kasi he forgot his at home and he wanted pa naman his CD signed. But when we got to Odyssey they said out of stock na daw.. Bummer… Sayang! After that nag take-out nalang me ng food sa KFC and told Jet we should go there na kasi mahirap mag-park and I wanted to have a good seat. I ate along the way.

As he drove, we even argued kung saan ang 70’s Bistro. Haller! Makipagtalo ba sa taga Q.C. Of course I knew where it is; he on the other hand kept his mouth shut nalang because it was his first time to go there pala. Kaya medyo haller talaga noh! Hehehe!

When we arrived we saw Vic Facultad. His former band – Indio I, will open for P.O.T. He’s still cute! Then we saw Ian Umali, followed by Mally who waved at Jet. Friends na daw sila… Hehehe!!! Okay… Had a few beers and pulutan.

The place is a little bit small but a lot bigger than Chakik’s pero okay naman. We were seated at the left side of the stage, a couple of tables away. So kitang kita naman sila. Galing nga eh. Maski corner kami okay parin kasi nobody stood in front of us. Mabait ang crowd. Indio I did a great job opening for the show. The people enjoyed every song they did. Sayang nga we didn’t take pictures.. Medyo na engross sa sounds… Grabe! You should hear Vic sing Funk/RnB (Wunjo) then do Reggae (Indio I). Wow! Nice voice talaga. Kakainlove! Lalo na yung Sister Sinister na original song nila that has a female and male voice, Vic did both. Grabe! So, after the number all the people are pretty hyper for P.O.T. to start. Dumadami narin ang crowd maski nakatayo okay lang. It really pays to be early in gigs. Hehehe! Or else hindi ako magtatagal dun kung wala kaming pwesto kasi bukod sa mainit e super crowded talaga…

Anyway, after a few minutes nag sound check na ang P.O.T. and when Karl Roy went up the stage and begun talking to the crowd… Puro sigawan nalang maririnig mo, kaaliw nga eh… Kasi parang nakikipag usap lang sya sa kabarkada nya… party nga lang daw ang tawag nya sa gig na yun eh. Walang showbiz ek ek. Umiinom nagyoyosi sila. Okay lang.. Cool cool talaga… Jet disappeared in the crowd, he wanted to take pictures and be close to his idols. Kaya hinayaan ko nalang. Jai followed a few hours we got there. So I have her with me. The band started with “Hindi Nyo Alam”. Grabe! People were shouting and jumping around the place… Imagine kasing tatanda ko na ang crowd ha. Kasi naman mga early 90’s na rock band sila so yung mga followers nila e matatanda na ngayon… Siraulo daw magperform si Karl Roy and he was! Praning! Nakakaaliw! First time ko kasing mapanood siyang live. Sa Fete kasi hindi na ako tumayo so I didn’t see him and only heard him sing. Pero last night was really great. After a few songs Jai went out to meet a friend and I was left alone in our table almost throughout the performance. Pero okay lang. Nag enjoy ako talaga! Familiar naman ako sa mga songs nila kasi after being with Jet for more than 2 years now, especially nung 1st year namin… Iba sila. I love 70’s Bistro! Bait pa mga waiters. Errr.. Back sa gig, the band performed all their songs from their one CD. Tuloy-tuloy. Walang break break. Grabe! Naubos na nga ang beer and people were still trying to get in maski close na ang gate. Yung mga hindi nakapasok were contented to just listen outside.

The performance lasted for like an hour and a half. He finished with “Ulitin” much to everybody’s delight. Jet was enjoying every song. I could see him from afar. Singing with Karl. He knows every lyrics of every song of the band. He told me, yung katabi nga daw nya napaptingin sa kanya dahil lahat ng kanta memorized nya.

Grabe! What a night! The reunion gig was worth it talaga! Ang saya saya. I told Jet we should do it again. Watch more gigs of his favorite bands. Carry ko naman ang sound.. especially pag Wunjo! Hehehe! We went to Que Rico for a midnight snack at konting kwentuhan. We dropped Jai at her place then Jet and I went home. He slept over again kasi medyo late narin. We slept not before talking about what happened that night. When we looked at the clock almost 4am na.. Eh he still has basketball practice at around 12 noon kaya medyo 8 hours nalang yun. We forced ourselves to sleep…

Another nice weekend for us!

All of the original band members were present.

Karl Roy on Vox, Ian Umali on Guitar, Mally Paraguya on Bass

and Harley Alarcon on Drums

Wunjo Experience

Jet and I rarely go to bars. But last night was different. Although it was still raining we went to Julia Vargas Avenue at Chakik’s and really really really had a good time!

A few days ago I came across the website of Wunjo and learned that they regularly play at Chakik’s every Friday of the week and every first Thursday of the month at 70’s Bistro. I immediately planned our weekend and didn’t tell Jet about it until the last minute where we’ll be spending our Friday night. He was excited like going to a field trip. Hehehe!

We arrived an hour and half early. A little too early. Eventhough we already killed time at Tiendesita’s buying stuff for my babies and had dinner at Freshka and had a wonderful seafood dinner. We were still a little too early for the show, so we had the pleasure of choosing our seat. Although the place was quite small and intimate, anywhere would be good enough to hear and see them. The first one to arrive was Mally Paraguya (bass) who came with two friends, and then the very good looking Vic Facultad (vox), then the drummer boy Jay Gapasin and the last one to arrived was Ian Umali (guitar). The keyboardist according to Mally, who came over to our table to greet us because he said he recognized Jet from Fete who was the only lone fan who had his photo taken with them, was not available. During the course of the discussion at one point, Jet showed Mally the pictures he took and edited from his mobile. Surprisingly, Mally requested for it to be sent via Bluetooth to his mobile. He’s such a NICE guy. I like him na! Hehehe!

After a few minutes, they started the show. Jet was in heaven after that conversation. He couldn’t believe that he just talked to one of his music heroes. You see, Mally together with Ian originally came from P.O.T. who by the way is having their reunion gig at 70’s this coming July 22, he’s been a fan of P.O.T. way back until the band broke-up and had their own respective bands today. Although I’m not a big Rock fan, I’m learning about them thru Jet and I’m quite happy about it especially when he introduced me to several bands and even different genres of music.

Back to the gig. The first time I heard Wunjo perform was at the 2006 Fete; honestly I couldn’t appreciate their song back then or even their performance. The reason was, I had a hard time listening to their music because it was an open area so the mucis isn’t that “buo”. I was just happy that Jet was happy to see them in the flesh. But the gig at Chakik’s was really different. The moment that Vic started to sing… My goodness… it was orgasmic! I mean, you wouldn’t believe that a big man like him would have a such wonderful voice. No pun intended. But his voice is so unbelievable. I closed my eyes and got lost. That’s the effect on me. Soulful. Guttural. Sexy. Wicked is how they describe their music. But for me, you could make love with their music in the background! Hehehe!!! The first set was consists of seven songs. Seven wonderful songs. They did The Police, Stevie Wonder, Commodores and Marvin Gaye just to name a few. On their second set, they sang three of their original compositions. I so loooove Somewhere! My god! I love it! I’m in love! Hope that they release their CD soon…
The gig started at 10pm and ended at around 1am… Jet had five bottles of beer and was still sober, which was a surprise to me because he gets intoxicated easily or maybe it’s because of too much adrenalin. And as for me, after five glasses of cosmopolitan I was happy. Wickedly happy! Hehehe! ;p

After congratulating the band of a wonderful performance, we went home. I was tired but happy. Jet slept over because it was already late and I wanted some cuddling… It was still raining and you know, it is so nice to cuddle with someone if the weather is like that. Hahaha!

It was a nice day that ended wonderfully…

I'm in love....

Fete De La Musique 2006

I just woke up. Jet’s still asleep, dead tired from last night’s event. My whole body still aches even after a seven hours sleep. I haven’t recovered yet from what happened. Hehehe! Tired but happy… :p

Last night was the 2006 Fete de la Musique (My fourth year and Jet’s third year). The event was held at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay (Pasay nga ba?). It was my first time to go to that place. Man! The place is monstrous! The third biggest mall in the whole Asia! Four times bigger than Megamall! Based sa isang article I read in the news paper. Grabe! After walking a few steps from the parking lot and entering the premises, I was crying for a fucking map! One could really get lost. It’s like a labyrinth of shops and shops and shops and restaurants. Goddamn it! Even a certified mallrat would give up! I did! Nakakahilo talaga!

Well anyway, back to Fete… We arrived at around 6pm, the show started at 4pm and expected to end at 4am the next day. We’ve planned to watch a couple of bands namely Wunjo and Kapatid. And if we could maybe Peacepipe and Coffee Break Island. After contacting Jet’s friends who also went there to see the show, we agreed to meet in front of KFC.

Buton, Andre, Franz, Tata, Payat and Satsu were already there. Usap usap then dahil walang magawa, they decided to ride the “Free-Ride” shuttle around the mall. Eh me being hungry and kj… told Jet na we have dinner nalang muna and join them after the ride. He was a little disappointed but I was not in the mood to join his friends, I was hungry! I know! I know! I can be a bitch! But while walking away from them and seeing them happily waiting the shuttle and seeing Jet’s face… I told him “Sige na nga! Let’s join them…” Ayun! Parang bata! Saya-saya nya… Hehehe! We occupied the second cart. It was fun! We went around the mall and even saw the fireworks. Hangin hangin pa. And we also saw the stages where Fete was held. Konti palang tao but we were excited.

After the ride we decided to eat and told his friends “text text nalang!” We tried the first Japanese restaurant we saw Sakae Sushi. They have the food moving around the restaurant, I don’t know how you call it. But if you want anything or seen the food you want… all you have to do is pick it up from the moving vent or you could use the computer and order your food. Hhmmm…. It’s a little bit expensive. Honestly, I don’t think the food was worth the price. I don’t even like their Ebi Tempura. Mas masarap pa sa Teryaki Boy and mas mura! But we did enjoy the moving vent! Hehehe!

tagal ng gusto ko ahhh...

chow time!!!

aahhh!!!

sarap ba?

okei lang...

busog na....

tara na nood, na tayo concert!!!

Fete De La Musique 2006 Part 2

Fete. The first gig we saw was of Sugarfree. I don’t like them anymore. Mainstream na kasi and boring na song nila. Although I like their “Kwarto” song. It’s “after a break-up” song for me. Hehehe! But yun lang. After hearing them at the Main Stage we met Fritz and his girlfriend Tin, a few chitchat and then we told them we’re heading back to the North Stage for Wunjo. Jet’s crazy about them. And they are the only reason why Jet wants to attend Fete. Because as what we’ve talked about, hindi maganda line-up ngayon and most of the good bands has their own gig in different places around the metro. So it’s a little bit disappointing. Tapos yung magaganda namang bands eh ang lalayo pa ng agwat ng time. Maghihintay ka pa ng matagal tapos the sched we got eh mali pa ata ang time. Ewan ang gulo nga e. But for some reason… as what I’ve told Jet, laging eksakto ang pagdating namin sa mga stages. Like when we arrived in the North Stage, after the band na naabutan namin, it was Wunjo’s turn. But according to the sched dapat Juan Pablo Dream after Shades of Ivory but hindi nga. Pero okay lang. Jet enjoyed every moment of it. He was in heaven! Hehehe! He told me “Be! Pwede na akong masagasaan!” Which I answered with “Hoy! Ihatid mo muna ako bago ka masagasaan!”

Here is Jet’s photo op with the band. He met the band’s manager and she told Jet Wunjo will be playing at 70’s Bistro on July 12. I told Jet we should go there because 70’s Bistro is so close to my place.

Fete De La Musique Part 3

After the photo op we went to the Main Stage to join his friends. Okay naman… Kaso kakapagod talagang maglakad ng maglakad ng maglakad. It was 12am already and I was sleepy. I didn’t join them; instead I went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and had a cold drink while they watch a few bands. Nung Kapatid na I went out and just sat at the smoking area. Grabe! Ang daming mga jologs! I mean yung mga kabataang over over mag damit at sobrang gulo! Makita lang nag slam slam yung mga ibang nanonood maski they don’t know the music or the band playing… sige go sila. Maski may masaktan pa. They don’t give a damn. According to Jet, they are the ones who give rock a bad name talaga. He is correct. Gusto ko lang yung mga rockistang simple lang. Yung hindi over magdamit or hindi yung screaming looks na “hoy! Rockista ako masindak kayo!” Yung ganun ba. Just like Jet. Hehehe! Simple lang.

After Kapatid, I told Jet I wanted to go home already. It was late and my feet hurt so much! Eh hellar! Nasa main stage pa kami eh yung parking namin e nasa North side pa! Huwaw! Good luck talaga sa mga paa ko. Sabi ko lakad nalang kami ng sobrang dahan dahan. When we arrived sa north side where the North Stage is located, sakto namang nagpeperform si Ely Buendia!!! Whaa!!! My god! I grew up listening to his music! I told Jet you better take his picture or else I’ll kill you! Unfortunately, last song na yung naabutan namin, but Jet did got my pictures! Pwede narin akong masagasaan! Hehehe!

Nandun din pala yung mga friends nya. Kala namin nagkahiwalay-hiwalay na. After Pupil performed, nagkayayaang kumain sa Mcdo. We were talking when Jet said nasa labas daw si Karl Roy… Yun… Picture daw ulit before umuwi. So they did… Hay! It was already 2:30 am… Way pass my bedtime. I was tired, sticky and I wanted to sleep already. At 2:45am we went home already. Pero ang Mall of Asia, buhay na buhay parin.

Although I like the place where Fete was held, masyadong malaki at nakakapagod. Pero okay lang… kasi ang naging resulta - konti lang ang taong pumunta… it was not jammed pack… nakakahinga ka pa and you can really enjoy the music and the bands playing. Unlike yung first experience ko even the second or third. Ngayon lang ako nag enjoy talaga.

Sana dun ulit ang Fete next year but I hope for a better line-up.

That’s Fete for me/us this year… Tiring, a little time of bonding with Jet’s friends and exploring the Philippine’s biggest mall in the wee hours of the morning (how romantic!) Hay! Sarap!

I better wake him up… I’m hungry already!
