Dates

Our Valentine’s date was a disaster in terms of food.

I loved the ambiance though. Wrong choice of food nga lang talaga.

I chose the Bellini’s Set Menu for Valentine’s. It turned out to be like a sampler of what they offer normally in the restaurant, a bit of that and a bit of this. We were surprised how it was presented. I expected more. I guess, bottom-line is natakam lang ako sa binigay nilang food because of the quantity they served us. And the restaurant was quite busy that night and they were under staff. Jet though, still managed to find the funny side of our experience. And he vowed not to return again in that restaurant. I, on the other hand still wants to experience the real Bellini’s, the one I read on the reviews, the one that makes them say the best kept secret of Cubao…

(True enough, I found my vindication a week later!)

After our V date, we went to Gateway Mall bought a few stuff and went home. Jet, had a good time teasing me, “Bellini’s Bellini’s ka pa dyan ha! Sana nagbarbecue nalang tayo sa kanto o kaya nag Pares nalang tayo o kaya nagluto ka nalang…” Hahaha! At least he loved their sweet red wine and I loved their dessert! :p

There’s always a next year… A better Valentine’s date I hope… Hehehe!

Last Friday, Jet and I celebrated our fourth year anniversary.

Four years… another year of being together, having and loving each other.

Nothing special was planned. Okay lang sa akin. What’s important was, we got to celebrate it on the exact date. Luckily his rest day was Fri and Sat, good enough for me. We, as always, reminisced what happened the day we met. I remember I still have the receipt of our first date ever. I even kept the clothes I wore the first day we met! Maski luma na… Corny ko talaga! Hahaha! Of course I never told him about the clothes or else walang kamatayang alaskahan nanaman yan…

We went to Tiendesitas to buy the meds of my dogs. We strolled around the tiangge area. He was looking for something pala to commemorate our fourth year. I didn’t want any jewelry or anything fancy. Then he saw the scarf hanging from one of the stalls. He asked me if I like any one of them. I side I like the blue one and he chose the green one… And that was it… Our gifts… Hehehe! Mukha nga lang syang rebel pagsuot nya. I guess, nasa nagdadala lang yan at kung kaya mo panindigan. Why not!

Then we went to Bonifacio High Street our favorite place to walk around and people watch. We had an early dinner at TGIF. I was not in the mood to go on a food trip kasi I had colds. Kaya hindi ko rin naman malalasana masyado. Sayang lang to spend that much. He enjoyed naman his Grilled Chicken and I loved naman my Tossed Tomato Basil Chicken Pasta… On diet ba kami? Chicken? Hehehe! After dinner, we walked around, took pictures and people watched. I dog watched actually.. Hehehe! There was this big Minpin and I couldn’t believe it grew that big. I mean, it looked like a big log with tiny legs. I wouldn’t let my babies grow big like that and have them suffer from arthritis... Small dogs like that are not meant to grow that big. I pity the dog. I hate the owners who overfed their pets as if it is healthy and cute. Hindi naman kasi sila tao para makapagsalita kung ano nararamdaman nila. I mean, mahirap pag sila ang nagkasakit. Buti kung tao yun at pwede magsalita kung ano masakit sa kanila. There was also this beagle that acted as if he is a baby. You wonder tuloy who is the real master… Nagkakaron tuloy ng personality confusion if he’s a dog or a human. Hehehe! As if I’m not guilty of this! Well, before I was! Nakakaawa kasi eh… So I let them be nalang…

After, we just drove around the metro. Before going home I bought a cake and a few stuff for Nanay.

If it weren’t for our anniversary, I really didn’t want to go out anymore. Actually, for the last few months, we wanted to just spent the day at home, order in food or I’ll cook something and just watch TV or DVD in my room and Jet would sleep over and that’s it. I guess when you’ve been together for so long and you’ve been around already, going out to gimik places loses its appeal na.

Every now and then though, we like to go out of the metro, drive to Tagaytay, Laguna, Batangas, or try out new restaurants or just sit in our favorite coffee house. Juts be still together.

Four years… who would have thought I would last this long in a relationship (my mantra). I never did. Every years we get to celebrate it, really leaves me in wonder. I mean, I am capable of making something work with someone pala. Although there are times that I become all that bitchy and Jet hates me when I turn into one. He just ignores me and keeps his cool. Something that I know plays a great part of keeping this relationship sane. Hehehe!

I think Communication, Trust and Respect are the three main component of a relationship. And Love is entirety of these three. Jet and I talk about anything and everything we could think of. I’m not afraid to speak my mind out with him, I’m not afraid he’ll judge me or he’ll criticize my opinion. I talk he listens and vise versa. I trust him with all my heart and soul. I threw out my paranoia years ago. And I’m glad I did. Though sometimes I like to tease him about some girls and act like a jealous bitch. That brings up the spice a level higher… Hehehe! But I know naman in his heart he only has his eyes on me. And of course I respect him being a man that he is. I know there was a time that what I want, I get. Almost being like the man in the relationship, always in command. Years of being with him, knowing him more and believing in him, he tamed me more than anything else.

We’re not a perfect couple. Nothing is smooth sailing, not unless you work on it. We still have moments of not looking at the same direction. But it’s much lesser now. We’re quieter. Not unless boredom hits me and I create this ruckus that makes him crazy. Hehehe!

What I learned from this relationship is, admitting that you are wrong and saying sorry doesn’t make you less of a person. And it is also important that you have your own time for yourself and so does he. Everyday and each day you spend with him, love is the reason why. You love him and you want and need to be with him…

Hay… Love… Corny ko na…

Yesterday, I was still nursing my cold when Tet sms’d me that she was online; I was also but in invincible mode… We talked about our life again and stuff…It’s been a while since we talked. Then she asked if I want to go out later that afternoon for coffee… I also messaged Jai if she wants to come along and she did after daw ng binyag na pupuntahan nya, so she’ll just follow us nalang.

Tet and I have this thing when ever we’re together. We couldn’t decide where to go. So I quickly said let’s try Mogwai in Cubao Expo. I heard it’s a nice place. I just want to check it out. Mogwai is co-owned by Erik Mati. Good food and they have this theater on the second floor where in customers could see a movie. We were there from 5:30pm till 8:00pm. Jai was running late. Then we decided to transfer to Bellini’s also in Cubao Expo. I wanted to try it again to prove Jet that we we’re just unlucky the first time we went there. Jai arrived around 8:30pm… We were seated at the area that I wanted Jet and I to be, it has a nicer ambiance there. And I love the decoration and all… Too much to look at and I love it… Hehehe! We were in our own corner. We had a good laugh about our life and everything under the sun. Jai being horny and all… Me being sick but still craving for more food… Tet, just being herself… Who loves being crazy in the camera. We ordered good nice comfort food. Love the pasta and the pizza was something different. Love the fresh crust and how sweet the onions were. Plus! If you asked for a hot sauce, you’ll be given an olive oil with chilies in it – too hot! The appetizer… Salmon in Crostinis… love love love the sweet taste of the salmon against the very tasty butter and slightly toasted bread. Hay…. Sabi nga ni Tet, we already had our dinner at Mogwai pero ginawa lang naming appetizer yung grilled lapu-lapu! Hehehe! Food trip talaga ito!

Good food with good old friends… We left Bellini's at 10:30pm and went to Starbuck's AliMall for coffee before finally going home at 12...

Tonight's Plan

I’m so excited for tonight. I had something planned for our post Valentine’s date.

The past few days I’ve been racking my brains on what to do. Just because I told Jet that I’ll be in charge of our Valentine’s date and he in turn has something planned for our anniversary next week. I was suddenly pressured to think of something. I don’t remember what we did the first year we spent Valentine’s Day. I don’t even remember celebrating it. Last year I know we went to Tagaytay for a dinner. It was on impulse because we had no reservation at any restaurant in town.

But this year, I think it would really be different. Something romantic I hope. I had Florene call Bellini’s, an Italian restaurant inside Cubao Shoe Expo (formerly known as Makirina Shoe Expo), and had us a reservation tonight. I’ve heard countless stories about this resto having authentic Italian dishes that wouldn’t hurt your pockets and of course a nice ambiance to go with that.

I live fifteen minutes away from Cubao and the establishment has been up and running for the past eight or nine years, sad to say, this is my first time to visit the place. I took it for granted. Though I frequent Cubao and most of my boring days are spent there, every time I would pass by Cubao Expo and see Bellini’s from afar, I would say “next time next time…” Now.. I get to experience it myself with my love one. Can’t wait for tonight… I hope he likes it too... :)

WoW!

Three months, three weeks and two days... that's how long I’ve abandoned this site...

It's been one hectic hiatus though and I was toooo (again and again and again) lazy to update this blog. I settled with my multiply account to tell my story for the past months. Pictures and pictures and more pictures.

But now, I guess I’m ready to rekindle my relationship with my blog… :p

After I got my passport I was off with my friend for our Palawan getaway…. We had a blast. I’m still hungry for more travel. Soon…

A few days after, I was busy with our angels cleaning two floors of our house because my sister was coming home after being away for three years. I had to move all my stuff from her room in the third floor up to my original room in the fourth floor. It took me and our angels three whole weeks to clean everything and have everything prepared for them before their arrival last November 29, 2007.

My sister and her family stayed for a month and a half. It felt like two weeks. The kids all grown up now and so makulit parin but Niko, the eldest is a lot tamer than Victor the youngest. Maybe because he is in that stage where in he feels he is not a kid anymore but adults think otherwise. He had fun bonding with Tito Jet. They enjoyed bullying me. Goodness! I could still hear them shouting at the top of their lungs “HIGH MAINTENANCE!” Hehehe! We had fun taking the kids out when it was “our” day (para tumahimik naman ang bahay at walang sawayin si Ate Lita.

Bonding with the kids and bonding with Ate Cindy…. I’m missing them again, right this moment. I try to block the emotions that would slowly creep in whenever I think of them. I remember Ate telling me on the way to the airport a few hours before they leave, “You know what hurts the most? It is leaving again for the second time and leaving Nanay this way, when she needs me the most. But I have my family to think about. You do understand don’t you?” I just nodded as I turn my head away. I was trying to control my tears because I hate the drama; I hate tears, maybe because the years without her at my side left me a cold bitch. I’ve put up my walls again, against any brouhaha between me and my “family”, issues in between. I just lived my life as if they don’t exist. So cold I burn myself sometimes.

Christmas and New Year was okay. We had fun. We were supposed to go to the beach but due to limited time we just spent every moment here at home with Nanay. There came a point the kids were so bored they were pestering me… Hehehe! I miss their kakulitan talaga…

What else… a couple of family reunions… a Christmas dinner (for the first time) with the future in-laws… Lot’s of coffee dates with a friend who needs support. Seeing P10 girls together again. Late nights with Suzy. Tim Horton addict thanks to Ate. Sex and the City renewed, can’t wait for the movie. Ate Cindy finally really liking and loving my boyfriend/fiancĂ© (whenever she calls she would ask about him and would encourage us to move to Canada someday. On the side she would joke if I was truly the woman right for Jet.. Parang sya pa ang hindi sure kung tama ba ako kay Jet ah… Hehehe!). Last minute shopping with Jai. And having Nanay back after four months of missing her.

Oh and also, Mandy, my dog got wild last December and bit two of our angels. Prompting me to go home early from my Christmas dinner with my highschool barkada – P10, only to find out it was nothing to be alarmed of. Mandy was just having her time of the month. She was also jealous I think, because everybody was focus on something but her which was not the case before my sister arrived. She got used to being treated as the baby of the house. She’s okay now but Jet thinks she needs to get laid… Not gonna happen!!!

2007, have been a good year for me. Not perfect but okay.

2008… A few things I’m looking forward to…

New beginnings… I pray to God things will happen in His right time. I trust Him whatever His decisions are for me.

Old celebrations... This year Jet and I will be celebrating our fourth year anniversary as a couple. Wow! I lasted this long in a relationship and yet I still love the man I said yes to four years ago. Love never ends and ceases to exist. I just hope he feels the same way… Hahaha!

More and more and more to come I hope….

That’s about it…. I know I’ve forgotten a few stuff… Next time nalang… Hehehe! I need to get up early tomorrow…

Happy Valentine's Day!
